Sherlock Holmes and the Voice of Terror (Universal, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 41").
This very rare one sheet from the Sherlock Holmes series is being offered by Heritage for the first time, and it is one of the most sought after from the series. In the early days of World War II, Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and Dr. John Watson (Nigel Bruce) are enlisted to track down The Voice of Terror, an unknown German broadcaster whose pronouncements always precede acts of sabotage and destruction. This was the first film in the Rathbone/Bruce franchise to be set in modern times; previous films had kept the characters in Victorian England. This dynamite piece has been restored, with airbrushing to the borders and touch-up applied to pinholes in the borders, fold wear and cross fold separation with chips, and chips in the border. It now shows very well, making this a perfect piece for any Baker Street Irregular! Fine/Very Fine on Linen...This Sold for: $5,078.75
